Police Department Receives Grant - The Pinetop-Lakeside Police department has received a grant from the Governors Office of Highway Safety to address aggressive driving and speeding within the Town. This grant will provide overtime monies for officers to target driving that exceeds the norms of safe driving behavior and that place the driver or other road users in unnecessary danger. These violations such as speeding, following too closely, or erratic and unsafe lane changes, place our citizens and visitors in danger and will be the target of the enforcement. Officers will use both marked and unmarked vehicles for this enforcement, and will concentrate during times when traffic is active. Questions should be addressed to the Pinetop-Lakeside Police Department at 368-8803.

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION VACANCIES

The Community Development Department of the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside is currently accepting letters from interested individuals desiring to serve on the Planning & Zoning Commission, which is responsible for making recommendations to the Town Council on all matters concerning or related to the amendment of the General Plan or its related sub-plans, Town Zoning Codes, and Subdivision Regulations. The Planning & Zoning Commission also grants approval for Conditional Use Permits, Site Plans, and functions as the Design Review Board.

Interested persons should submit a letter of interest, including a statement of qualifications and any personal information they wish to provide to: Lu Anne Frost, Town Clerk, Town of Pinetop-Lakeside, 1360 N. Niels Hansen Lane, Lakeside, AZ 85929. Applicants must be residents of the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside. Applications must be submitted by 12:00 noon May 28, 2010. The successful applicants will be appointed to fill three-year terms that will expire July 24, 2013.
